What is a Kat’s engine heater?

A Kat’s engine block heater is a highly advantageous device to use in cold weather to make sure your engine starts. They are usually installed into a freeze plug port on the engine block. They make starting faster and easier in cold weather. They provide heat to the cabin much faster. They reduce the wear on your engine during cold weather starts! They plug into a standard electrical outlet and can be put onto a timer, or a temperature triggered electrical outlet. This in effect causes your engine to reach operating temperature much faster and gives you heat inside the cabin much faster as well. On top of the benefit of heating up quicker, it also saves your engine a ton of wear and tear on internal moving parts! When an engine is warm it starts easier, when its cold it's very hard on your engine.

Another style of Kat's engine heater is a circulating coolant heater. This style is installed in a coolant line on your vehicle. It circulates the coolant through while heating it. Warmer engine coolant during cold weather will ease the stress on starts, gives heat to your cabin much faster, warms the oil faster, and leads to a longer life for your engine.

One more option to help prolong life of your vehicle equipment is a Kat's battery heater. It would be recommended if you live in temperatures that go below 0 degrees.
